I didn't create NIYO because I wanted another salon in Birmingham.

I created it because I've lived this journey — from braiding hair in my bedroom as a teenage girl earning £200 a week, to building a beauty space where women finally feel seen, understood and cared for.

And even as I grew, learned, travelled — one thing never changed: women have always wanted a beauty experience that feels soft, safe and personal. And they have always wanted it to be quality.

Back then, my bedroom chair was the real salon.

Girls would come over after school, on weekends, at any hour — not just for braids, but for conversations, comfort, laughter, secrets, warmth and conversations about how to truly be empowered in business and careers.

NIYO was born from that girl in her bedroom who believed beauty could feel like home.
